Setting off from the archaeological site of Santa Giulia and the monumental remains of the Forum, some other relevant remains of the Roman Age can be visited in Brescia.

Several archaeological remains are also present in Brescia province; the Garda region is especially rich in important villas, among which the so-called Grotte di Catullo, in Sirmione, stand out for their fame.

This is the largest and most organically constructed Roman residence in the north of Italy and is likely to have hosted the emperors passing trough the region.

The imposing remains of the villa are found on a rock overlooking the lake; a magnificent view can be enjoyed up to the rocky layers of the Alps. More compact is the Roman villa in Desenzano, rich in well-preserved mosaics, which houses, in the adjoining antiquarium, artefacts of great value. Lots of artefacts are kept in the museums of Gavardo, Salò, Manerba, Desenzano, Sirmione, Manerbio, Remedello and Lonato.
